Nutritionist and host of a culinary program, Gabriela Kapim, speaks to Elementary School students

Aiming at expanding and improving the nutritional education project, Sodexo – the company responsible for nutrition at Beacon – established a partnership with Gabriela Kapim, nutritionist and host of a culinary program on GNT. Besides planning and signing Beacon’s menus, and training nutritionists and staff members, Gabriela Kapim scheduled a series of activities to be carried out throughout the year.

Kapim started with a relaxed and fun talk with 3rd and 4th graders (Y3 and Y4) in the auditorium. Kapim presented the “5 Commandments of Healthy Eating”, which is connected to Beacon’s Nutrition Policy, and also answered the student’s questions.

While using an adequate language for such a young audience, Kapim lead the chat using metaphors for a better understanding of the students. She gave them the opportunity to share situations regarding their daily eating habits.

We are in constant development to provide a balanced and diverse diet to our students, respecting the correct portions for each food group and age. A nutritional diet during school hours consolidates a good and healthy diet during their adulthood, as well as supporting the child’s physical and intellectual development.
