Beacon offers a rich and challenging academic program in High School that integrates the International Baccalaureate Organization's (IBO) Diploma Programme into the Brazilian curriculum and prepares teenagers to take part in selection processes at the most renowned universities in Brazil and abroad. Besides taking compulsory subjects, students can choose their academic path with autonomy in the areas that interest them most. A range of elective courses allows them to deepen and diversify the curriculum.
Other key features of Beacon High School include individualized mentoring, opportunities for student choice - student agency, a comprehensive travel program - Expanding Horizons Program -, and University and Career Counseling.

At Beacon, we encourage all high school students to pursue the IB Diploma Programme integrated with the Brazilian curriculum.
The Diploma Programme (DP) comprises courses within six areas of knowledge and the three elements that form the "DP Core": Theory of Knowledge, CAS (Creativity, Activity, Service), and the Extended Essay. Through the “DP Core”, students reflect on the nature of knowledge, conduct research and projects involving global or local community service, and develop a thesis on a topic of their interest.
The courses offered by the DP are organized into the following areas of knowledge: Language and Literature, Language Acquisition, Individuals and Societies, Sciences, Mathematics, and Arts. Each subject group includes one to five disciplines, and students are offered opportunities to choose within some of them.
In addition to the National Curriculum, students deepen their skills in the various areas of knowledge, as well as being exposed to two “Itinerários Formativos”: Research Practices and Social Applicability, with an emphasis on entrepreneurship.
By integrating the National Curriculum and the IB Diploma Programme, Beacon organizes its High School program in such a way that the IB international final exams do not coincide with the national university entrance process.
