Admission Criteria by Program
PYP – Early Childhood Education (for children ages 1 to 6 – G1 to G6)

Submission of the admission application with all required information, as well as payment of the application fee within the established deadlines.

Siblings of currently enrolled students in good financial standing, prioritized by the length of the family’s relationship with the school.

Foreign children or children of a foreign parent.

G5 and G6: children coming from bilingual schools or with English proficiency.

G6: analysis of school reports.

Applicants living near the school.
-
Applicants with first cousins enrolled at the school.

Children of teachers and staff.
Morning groups (G1 to G3 – ages 1 to 3)
Demand for morning classes usually exceeds availability. Therefore, priority is given to children already enrolled at Beacon who wish to change shifts and to siblings of current students. The criteria for determining each child’s position on the entry list are defined as follows:
a) length of the family’s relationship with Beacon;
b) older siblings enrolled from G5 onward;
c) lottery.
PYP & MYP – Elementary and Middle School (for candidates ages 6 to 14 – Y1 to Y9)

English language proficiency – assessed in an in-person interview.

Analysis of previous academic performance.

Siblings of applicants admitted to other grades in Beacon’s Elementary or Middle School.

Student interview, individual in-person assessment.

Recommendation form sent by Beacon and completed by the teacher, coordinator, or principal of the previous school.
DP – High School (for candidates ages 15 to 17 – Y10 to Y12)

Submission of the admission application with all required information and payment of the application fee within the established deadlines.

Foreign applicants or children of a foreign parent.

Analysis of previous academic performance.

Individual in-person assessments in Portuguese, Mathematics, and English.

Student interview.

Recommendation form sent by Beacon and completed by the teacher, coordinator, or principal of the previous school.
