Literary Week gathers the Beacon Community on behalf of Literature

The 2nd Literary Week at Beacon aimed at fostering students’ taste for reading and enhancing their appreciation for culture and literature. This was an internal event for students and staff only. However, the entire Beacon Community was aware and involved in the event, from beginning to end.

Our objective was not only to affirm and value literary learning, but also to make the students’ and teachers’ learning path visible to the school community. Several actions such as author encounters, storytelling, dramatic readings, exhibitions, “cordel” workshops and book recommendations triggered connections between learned contents and productions, based on reflections, memories and discoveries.

At Berlioz, the Literary Week honored the author, designer, and illustrator Eric Carle. Each group worked on a specific book, besides the final presentation of the famous story “The Very Hungry Caterpillar”, by teachers.

The Literary Week at the Campus came to an end with the “Book Character Parade”, which evidenced everyone’s collaborative spirit and vibrant engagement! Imagination, creativity, production and joyful moments brought a feeling of mission accomplished. The work done and produced by the team highlighted the great level and the commitment of students and others involved.
