Accompanied by their teachers, G4 children (4 years old) visited the Beacon Campus, where they will study next year. Some of them arrived with sparkles in their eyes and scanned the space, others with a suspicious look, and others didn’t even look back. After a brief “get together” to explain the dynamics of the visit, teachers, with an iPad in hand, started a “Treasure Hunt” with the group to visit the spaces and freely explore the G5 playgrounds.
The students in G5 this year recorded messages with the clues that would lead G4 children to different spaces across the Campus. So they played. After having a snack, they left the Campus with a “want some more” desire.
Throughout this week, we had essential reflections on the students’ learning path in 2020. In small groups or individually, teachers observed and documented advances, achievements, and support needs. These are valuable data that will guide our next plans and will also assist as curriculum support to adjust learning expectations for 2021, considering the atypical year that we lived.
