G3 Children Welcome Grandparents for a Tea Party

G3 children (3 years old) welcomed grandparents as part of the Unit of Inquiry “We Belong”, developed over the months of May and June.

This Unit focuses on the relationship between the most important social groups children are involved in: the school and the family. The cooperation and sociability are highlighted under this Inquiry, without leaving aside each child’s individuality.

The “Grandparents’ Tea” brings these two groups closer together, in a celebration filled with affection and meaningful moments.

The spaces received an exhibition of posters with family pictures, from the first school presentation in the classroom. They also researched the origin of their names, as part of a Portuguese language activity for the development of their identity.

First, children presented songs they practiced in class, fulfilling the atmosphere with positive emotions. Then, they made bookmarks with their grandparents, who brought the presents home as souvenirs. Finally, they drank up tea and had a snack brought by their relatives.
