First edition of Beacon Talks with psychologist Ligia Ito

Beacon School inaugurates Beacon Talks, an online chat, on our Instagram account (@beacon.school), with experts from various fields to discuss topics of interest to parents, students, educators, and education lovers.

In this first edition, director Maria Eduarda Sawaya talked to psychologist Ligia Ito about anxiety, a common issue nowadays, since practicing social distancing. One hour later, the audience followed the expert’s advice. Ligia Ito addressed anxiety symptoms in different age groups of students and suggested other techniques that can help acute control manifestations of anxiety.

The conversation was very interesting, with the active participation of parents and family members who talked, highlighted moments on the topic, and had their questions answered, such as how to control their anxiety about the present. Another major topic was the concern for children’s development, mainly concerning anxiety because of social distancing, and online school, now full-time due to the pandemic.
