Exploring Paths for the Future: Job Shadowing and Summer Programs

During the July break, Beacon students took part in a variety of learning and professional exploration experiences, broadening their understanding of the workplace and the university environment.

Through our Job Shadowing program, students had the opportunity to experience different professional settings firsthand, learn about the daily routines of companies and law firms, and engage with professionals from a range of fields. These experiences help students explore different career possibilities, reflect on their interests, and make more informed professional choices, while also strengthening their résumés and university applications. This year, participating organizations included C6 Bank, JP Morgan, Riachuelo, Gamaro Desenvolvimento Imobiliário, and Sentimental Filmes, as well as the law firms Trench Rossi Watanabe and Duarte, Garcia, Serra Netto e Terra. We are especially grateful to the families connected to these organizations who opened their doors and generously shared their time and expertise with our students.

In addition, Beacon students participated in summer programs in Brazil and around the world, gaining firsthand experience of university life and exploring the academic environments of renowned institutions. Among the universities they visited were Harvard, Yale, Columbia, Notre Dame, UChicago, UMiami, Imperial London, IE, Navarra, Bocconi, the University of Amsterdam, Insper, and FGV, among others.

These experiences give students the opportunity to engage with different fields of study, academic cultures, and career possibilities, helping them better understand what they are looking for in a university and make more informed decisions about their next steps. More than just vacation experiences, they are opportunities for discovery, learning, and building paths toward the future.
