In 2024, the Earth Day was celebrated on April 22nd, with a prominent theme focusing on “Food Waste,” which aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 2 – Zero Hunger and Sustainable Agriculture.
With the aim of discussing and reflecting on our relationship with the planet, the week of April 22nd to 26th featured a series of activities and initiatives at the school to promote environmental awareness and preservation and highlight the importance of sustainability.
In this regard, in addition to a campaign aimed at reducing food waste during lunch hours at the school, our actions aimed to encourage the practice of home composting through the display of our educational compost bin, a composting workshop with distribution of biofertilizer with the company Morada da Floresta, and a food drive in partnership with BCA to raise awareness about hunger and food insecurity.
