Beacon School celebrates an important international recognition achieved by Lucas D’Nillo Sousa, the school’s University and Career Counseling Coordinator. Lucas was selected as a finalist for the 2026 Global Counsellor Awards, promoted by Times Higher Education (THE), one of the world’s most respected higher education ranking organizations.
He was shortlisted in two distinguished categories: Counsellor of the Year – Latin America and Counsellor Community Support and Collaboration, which recognizes initiatives focused on collaboration and support within the global counseling community. Lucas placed second in the Latin America category.
The announcement was made during the BMI/THE Global Counsellor Workshop in Sesimbra, Portugal, bringing together professionals from different countries and highlighting leading names in university and career counseling on the international stage.
This recognition reinforces Beacon School’s commitment to excellence in university guidance, grounded in individualized student support, the development of strong academic pathways, and the strengthening of collaborative networks among professionals in the field.
Beyond the direct impact on student development, the recognition also highlights Lucas’s role in promoting collaborative practices and sharing knowledge with counselors from different parts of the world.
Being among the finalists of a global award organized by Times Higher Education represents not only a personal achievement, but also an important milestone for Beacon School and for Brazilian education on the international stage.
