Beacon offers training on the Pikler approach

By Lais Carvalho

Beacon invests in continuous training for the professional development of employees from all areas. This time, child development assistants (AIDES) from G1 to G6 participated in a training session with Mariana Americano.

Trainer of Early Childhood Education educators, fiscal advisor, and member of the Pikler Association Brazil, the lecturer is also an assiduous scholar of subjects such as listening to babies and children, interactions, care, and development.

The theme of the lecture was “Care, affective security and the relationships established at school”. Following the principles of the Pikler approach, topics such as valuing the bond between the AIDES and the child, recognizing and respecting individuality, promoting autonomy through freedom of movement and free play, and respecting the time and space necessary for healthy development were addressed.

The meeting was permeated with theory, exchange of experiences, group dynamics, and a lot of reflection. In addition, the participants were able to rethink practices already in place in Early Childhood Education, drawing up an action plan.
