Beacon families participate in meetings about ethics education

Convivere +, an advisor for Beacon’s Ethical Coexistence program, promoted the “Family School” project during last year’s round of talks.

The initiative promoted reflection on ethical education for children and adolescents. The Family School was organized in six meetings over the course of this year, which took place monthly with a duration of 1h30, guiding family members interested in how to improve the quality of their relationships with their children, nieces, nephews, and grandchildren.

The themes were organized based on the reality of each group, among them the construction of an ethical personality; education in values; the importance of limits, rules, and routines; the use of constructive communication; the role of sanctions in family education; interpersonal conflicts; and the current challenges that children and young people are exposed to, such as excessive consumption, living in a virtual world, bullying, virtual aggression, depression, cutting, and the early use of alcohol and other drugs.

Twenty-three families participated in the meetings, articulating ideas and opinions throughout the reflections among the groups.
