As we begin a new semester, the teams that make up Beacon School’s Student Wellbeing Center came together for a day of professional learning, reflection, and collaboration. Bringing together Learning Support, Social-Emotional Learning, and the English & Portuguese Support Program, we explored one guiding question:
What makes us one SWBC department?
Through the exchange of practices, shared experiences, and meaningful dialogue, we reflected on how our different areas of expertise connect to serve a common purpose. While each team plays a distinct role in supporting students, we are united by a shared commitment to ensuring that every learner feels seen, understood, and empowered to thrive.
The day reinforced the importance of collaboration, alignment, and collective responsibility in building a strong culture of care. By learning from one another and strengthening our partnerships, we continue to create a more inclusive and supportive environment for all students.
One department. One shared purpose. Every student at the center.
