As part of the Literary Week program, held from May 25 to 29, Beacon School launched its first Reading Club for staff members.
The initiative was created to encourage shared reading and foster opportunities for dialogue, reflection, and the exchange of ideas through carefully selected literary works. More than a space to discuss books, the club aims to strengthen a community of learning through literature.
In its inaugural edition, participants had the opportunity to meet and engage with Jeferson Tenório, author of O avesso da pele, the book chosen for the first meeting. The author joined the discussion, sharing insights into his creative process, the inspirations behind the novel, and the themes explored in the work, making the experience even more meaningful for participants.
Winner of the 2021 Jabuti Prize in the Literary Novel category, O avesso da pele added further depth to the conversations and reflections throughout the session.
The launch of the Reading Club reinforces Beacon’s commitment to fostering a culture of reading, developing critical thinking, and strengthening a community of lifelong learning among its staff.
