On February 14, Beacon hosted the first quarterly meeting of 2025 for the University and Career Counselors group of the State of São Paulo. This group is composed of Counselors from various international, bilingual, and Brazilian schools, responsible for guiding students in their first career choices and university applications, both in Brazil and abroad. The meeting provided valuable exchanges between schools, fostering collective learning and support for the educational community in the state and the country.
During the event, the Museu de Arte de São Paulo (MASP) gave a presentation on a pioneering collaboration initiated by Beacon, aiming to offer a holiday course for students from different institutions. The program explores potential careers in the arts and various professional opportunities within the museum. The meeting also featured the participation of Fundação Estudar, one of the NGOs founded by entrepreneur Jorge Paulo Lemann, which presented its scholarship program for highly selective universities abroad, specifically designed for low-income students.
Furthermore, one of the practical outcomes of this collaboration among Counselors was the organization, in partnership with other schools, of our university fair (UDAY), which brought together over 120 institutions from Brazil and around the world to engage with Beacon students. Additionally, this type of initiative strengthens dialogue with Brazilian institutions, contributing, for example, to the recognition of the final IB Diploma score in place of the traditional entrance exam, facilitating access to Brazilian universities. This pioneering collaboration within the group, which has been ongoing for at least three years, has had a significant impact, benefiting students from São Paulo and other regions of Brazil.
