The families of the 9th-grade students (Y9) were invited to honor their last achievement of the school year: the passage to High School. During the ceremony, the students remembered the obstacles they had overcome and celebrated the end of Elementary School.
After a speech by the principals and the Y9 pedagogical coordinator, Felipe Pregnolatto, the ceremony started by praising the students’ learning and highlighting the importance of this closing of the cycle in their academic lives. This night marked the beginning of a new stage with its own challenges and experiences.
The chosen representative of the group, Daniel Moura, a Nature Science teacher, made an analogy about the first days of school by highlighting “a blank canvas that became a work of art”. Two students also joined the team of speakers, Eduardo Sanches and Isabel dos Santos, who told a little about their experiences this year and the role they now assume, as Y10 students, in front of the younger students.
Following the event’s schedule, student Irene Macedo sang the song “We Are The Champions”, by the band Queen, and then a video of the trip to Pantanal and Paraty was shown to the students and their families. As a mark of collective achievement, the event also honored the teachers and employees.
The night enacted their last moment as Elementary School students, introducing, as of 2023, a new chapter in their school journeys: High School.
