In order to integrate the set of Funix games, “Guerra em Carta” was idealized by Francisco Lobo and Joaquim Rodas, both from the 3rd year (Y3). Through a collaborative process, they developed the project and later created the card game.
In response to the students’ demand, the inauguration of the Beacon’s game space, named Funix, took place in August. With a varied collection of games, most of them bilingual, the environment promotes interaction among students through playful activities. The space also has a specialized teacher who encourages and supervises fun times during breaks. Aiming to promote socialization among the students, Funix was designed as a space for everyone. It works through a rotation system that encompasses all segments of the school. One of the intentions of the space was that the students would also produce their own games and, after the creation of “Guerra em Carta”, new ideas have been coming up.
Now, the space has the first game created by students, which comes with the instructions and mechanics of use through a QR code at the bottom of the box. In addition, Francisco and Joaquim recorded a video telling the story behind the creation and making of the game. Currently, “Guerra em Carta” is one of the most requested by students at Funix, and the production of new copies is being considered to compose the collection.
