Y10 students are chosen for the development program

By Gabriel Oliveira

After a long selection process that included the writing of an essay, an interview, and the production of a video, four students from the 1st year of High School (Y10), Lina Meyer, Graziela Andrello, Benjamin Moreira, and Luisa Meneghesso, were selected by the Latin America Leadership Academy to participate in the program.

The Latin America Leadership Academy (LALA) is an educational institution that promotes the integration of leadership profiles in Latin America. With the pillars of sustainable economic development, equity, and democratic governance, the initiative works so that these young people can become future leaders who think about social issues and become high-impact professionals in their respective communities. LALA identifies high-potential 14 to 20-year-old profiles and provides them with personal development programs that involve leadership skills, entrepreneurship, social-emotional learning, and social innovation.

The activities and skills developed are important not only for the personal profile but also for enriching the curriculum with a view to applying to foreign universities. During the 5-day immersive camp, networking and a sense of community among young people from different realities are stimulated. After the period, the students become part of a lifelong community of people and partner organizations that work together to meet the challenges of the region.
