Virtual Literary Week brings imagination to students and parents

In this year’s Literary Week, we experienced something different. When making our traditional journey through the world of literature, we boarded a technological and virtual ship that took us on unusual paths. In the scenario that we live in, hosting this party has become even more special. Unlike the format we adopted in other years, parents had the chance to follow the entire program with their children.

Although virtual, the event’s main objective remained the same: to affirm and value Literature learning and make visible to the school community the path taken by students and teachers when building it.

Teachers, when stimulating the experience of their students’ literary production, were concerned with bringing out different perspectives for the same academic reality. The final result’s dimension was present in the program full of relevant guests from the literature world, in the activities and exhibitions of works, storytelling, conversations, and presentations presented. They intended to provoke relationships between the contents learned and the productions, based on reflections, memories, and discoveries.

Some highlights were the writer Rodrigo Lacerda’s meetings, the author and illustrator André Neves, and the author João Anzanello Carrascoza. We had great moments of storytelling with the writer Zenaide Denardi and the group Canta e Conta. Among the activities, students had the opportunity to share their favorite books, the most unusual places they like to read, drawing workshops, and group readings.

All at a distance, overcoming challenges and reaping a learning experience marked for future editions. We continue to look for new ways to develop children’s imagination and love for literature.
