Retreat 2019 put on the agenda the ethical interaction and the role of the professional 4.0

As a school committed to sharing content and values, Beacon invites the Pedagogical and Administrative teams to the Retreat 2019, an event where professionals are engaged in collaborative work, reflection and strengthening of their practices.

This year, the study topics were “Ethical Interaction and Interpersonal Conflicts at School”, “School and the Professional 4.0”, and “Meditation Practices – Focus and Attention”.

Staff members were invited by Adriana de Melo Ramos and Soraia Campos to reflect on moral and ethical aspects that permeate the routine within the school environment and in daily life. The faculty team had the opportunity to learn about conflict resolutions regarding each age group, according to each child’s cognitive development. On the other hand, the administrative team was motivated to think about values and why external regulators are still necessary to determine the morality and assist in the ethical interaction in society, as well as in the work environment.

Through dynamics and group discussions, Babi Teles and Daniela Libiliar approached the theme “School and the Professional 4.0”. In order to keep up with this new era we are living in, some skills are required in the professional 4.0, as well as the knowledge of their area of expertise: complex problem solving, critical thinking, creativity, people management, coordination, emotional intelligence, capacity of judgement and decision-making, service orientation, negotiation, and cognitive flexibility.

The second day of training began with meditation practices and exercises to improve focus and attention. Daniela Degani, specialist in Mindfulness for Children and Teenagers by Mindful Schools/USA®, brought playful and effective methods for daily and classroom practices.

This immersion brought good results, with a more integrated team, working with excellence, in a school that has the student as its main focus!
