Aiming at recycling and deepening the knowledge of educators working with the PYP (Primary Years Programme), from Early Childhood Education to Elementary School, teachers, coordinators, and the pedagogical director took part in the IBO workshops at St. Francis College, in São Paulo.
They had three days of immersion and exchange of experiences between 200 participants from national and international schools. Currently, 35 educational institutions offer the PYP program, 17 of which are located in São Paulo – including Beacon.
Two major themes were approached: “Making the PYP Happen: Implementing Agency”, which brought a detailed perspective of the program and recent updates and studies. The workshop “Building for the Future” promoted reflections on PYP and how to apply it to meet the needs of students and the whole school community.
Beacon considers that the participation in these events are fundamental to validate the work developed by the school, clarify doubts, learn and acquire knowledge that will later be applied in the classroom.
