This year marks the beginning of a new project at Beacon School: The Literary Week.
In addition to the Book Fair, which is already in its third edition, a special program occurred November 6-10 that aimed to encourage reading, students’ appreciation towards culture and their relationship with literature.
The proposed activities included presentations, conversations with authors and storytellers, literary talks and the round tables that were held in the classroom with students’ and employees’ participation.
On the last day, the whole community was invited to participate in a book swap. In partnership with BCIA, the III Book Fair opened an opportunity for children and adults to donate books or to acquire different ones, which exercises the idea of sustainability and their ability to make personal choices.
This is another event in which Beacon School and the BCIA acknowledge their concern about social responsibility. The remaining books can be purchased and the benefit will be passed on to institutions that assist children´s welfare.
