Welcome to the 2024 school year!

The year 2024 began filled with encounters and learning experiences. The 44 new teachers spent two days learning about Beacon and the areas that support the educational department, and they also had an overview of the IB programs.

We started the 2024 school year on January 24 with the Pedagogical, Administrative, and Operational Teams together in a training session on Restorative Justice, which will be one of the themes of 2024. How do we promote more harmonious relationships in our lives, with our students and with our colleagues? What means can we use?

From there, the weeks unfolded intensely. We covered a variety of topics, including ADHD, language, Artificial Intelligence, the use of Scientific Calculators, Statistics, and Research Practices, as well as the differentiation and alignment of PYP inquiry units and MYP global contexts. We had facilitators from the US and Latin America who brought the theme of Interdisciplinary Units for MYP teachers and a focus on Inquiry for PYP teachers. The Early Childhood Education teams also had international training focused on Positive Discipline.

We have experienced 8 days full of teachings, exchanges, and planning for the new year that will certainly have a positive impact on our students.
