The Winter-Camp In-House is a vacation program that welcomes kids from 2 to 8 years-old, even those who are not enrolled at Beacon. The student’s leisure moments had trips, shows and various workshops.
For the first time at Villa, the In-House program carried out 2 seasons of workshops for kids between the ages of 2 and 4 years-old (G2 to G4). Children went on Field Trips to “Cia dos Bichos” and “Fazendinha – Estação Natureza”, where they were able to learn about the animals, feed them, and even milk the cows.
The puppet show “Mar de Histórias”, with the storyteller and winner of the “Myriam Muniz” prize, Andi Rubinstein, and… brought enchantment and happiness to the kids. Beacon’s teachers ran their own workshops as well. Among workshops offered by Beacon staff, the Cooking Class aimed to sharpen the student’s senses and awaken their interests. The kids put hands at work and cooked some delicious food, which they were able to try after. The students had many workshops, such as Sports Games, Sensorial Experience of Art, Treasure Hunt with Art, and Room and Experience with Light.
On the other hand, for the ages of 5 to 8 years-old (G5 to Y2), the In-House activities were held at the Campus, with one season. It was a flexible program regarding schedules and activities. There were plenty of workshops, which engaged the children in a playful way. One of them was the Theatre course, in partnership with “Oficina de Arteiros”, where the students presented the play “Saltimbancos”, thus developing their own self-confidence and the importance of teamwork. Children took part in the Circus and Tech Lab workshops. They also had activities such as Soccer and the “Multi Program”.
The Middle School students went on a trip to Juquitiba, organized by Beacon in partnership with “Acampamento de Aventura”. The Adventure Camp vacation program aims to encourage students to practice outdoors activities and promote a bigger bond with nature. The camp offered exploratory activities, stimulating the respect for the environment, besides enabling students to learn about the various adventure modalities and their fundamental values. The “cachorro quente” hike was an example of outdoor activities that students had there. After the walk, students were rewarded with hot-dogs on a stick and marshmallows by the campfire. They also enjoyed activities like “Urucum” face painting, bike riding, rafting, and awarded medals as a symbol of their achievements.
