By the end of this year, the group of students from the “Programa Jatobá” will continue English classes at the Campus, located in Vila Leopoldina, from Monday to Thursday. Children will also take recovery classes of Math and Portuguese every Friday.
In 2017, ten high-performing students from public schools were selected to participate in the first group of the social project, which is sponsored by Beacon parents.
The chosen group achieved a high performance in the selection process in both math and Portuguese exams, besides having an outstanding performance in the individual interview.
The project includes a daily English course, which began in August 2017 and will last a year and a half. The intensive English study aims to prepare the students for Beacon’s bilingual education. Two of them will receive a full scholarship to attend Beacon until the conclusion of High School.
The selection for scholarship students will be based on school performance, interest, posture towards learning, as well as the classification in Math and Portuguese final tests. In 2019, the selected students will begin their studies in the 6thgrade (Y6, Middle School, 12-year-olds).
Children and families count on the support of educational psychologists throughout the course.
