Projeto Jatobá started a partnership with Instituto Ismart to integrate the 1st year of High School (Y10) at Beacon and thus provide opportunities for students looking to develop further, aiming at candidates who had a differential and could study at school as scholarship holders.
The Instituto Social para Motivar, Apoiar e Reconhecer Talentos (Ismart), a private non-profit organization created in 1999, identifies young low-income talents from 12 to 15 years old, granting scholarships to excellent private schools and access to professional development and guidance programs from elementary school to university.
The process started in August 2020, when the institute carried out the student selection phase, taking into account the need to have a basic, intermediate English language level. After this stage, a test in English was developed, developed by Beacon to select the candidates. In total, they chose three students to start school in 2021.
In January, we started an English intensive course with these scholarship recipients. With a much lower workload, it continues interspersed with the classes, expecting to stay until June. With this start, students were able to adapt very well to the school routine and have the support and welcome of their colleagues and teachers.
