Interns and apprentices participate in a conversation with the directors

By Fabio Reis

During this week, the board of directors of Beacon School held a special meeting with the group of interns and apprentices of the school, providing an enriching conversation. This initiative is part of Beacon’s Internship and Apprenticeship Program, which aims to provide opportunities for young people starting their careers, allowing them to talk and learn from the institution’s leadership. This interaction aims to encourage education and the development of employees, promoting a continuous learning environment.

During the meeting, the participants were divided into three groups, where each director had the opportunity to address a relevant topic for Beacon’s reality. Maria Eduarda Sawaya, Founding Director, focused on the topic of “Culture,” highlighting not only the educational culture that the institution seeks to develop but also the professional culture based on strong ethical principles. She emphasized the importance of collaboration and the pursuit of excellence, fundamental values defined by Beacon for both students and school professionals.

The Pedagogical Director, Audrey Peverelli, took the responsibility of presenting the “Pedagogical Strategy” of Beacon, emphasizing how the investigative process is a central element in the institution’s methodology. She explained how this approach allows students to be agents of their own learning, encouraging them to question, experiment, reflect, and apply their knowledge to problem-solving.

Luciana Leite, also a Founding Director, shared information about the “Growth and Challenges of Beacon.” She recalled the school’s story since its foundation, in 2010, highlighting the significant growth from 16 students to over 1300 across three different campuses. Luciana also revealed details of Campus+, an expansion planned to begin in 2023, and addressed the challenges faced by the school in growing without compromising the quality that has been the hallmark of the institution since its foundation.

During the presentations, targeted at each of the attending groups, the interns and apprentices were able to actively interact, sharing their experiences, opinions, and asking questions in order to engage more fully with Beacon’s proposals and vision for its students, employees, and the institution as a whole. This interaction provided an environment for the exchange of knowledge and the strengthening of bonds among the participants, contributing to the construction of a cohesive and engaged community within the school.
