G5 students explore forms of artistic expression

Heather Hansen is an artist known for her series of kinetic drawings, a hybrid of dance, film, and visual art, which uses the entire body as a drawing tool to transcribe movement onto the canvas, resulting in large-scale pieces in charcoal or pastels. Her drawings emanate graphic organic patterns and symmetry, driven by gestures, body geometry, and leverage. In the Feelings Unit of Inquiry, the G5 children had the opportunity to experience kinetic drawing and express their feelings along the way.
