For more than a year, Beacon has had the consultancy of “Convivere Mais”, which has been offering training to all our staff members to collaborate with the improvement of ethical coexistence at school.
This partnership has been extended to the moment of the pandemic and some of our professionals have been invited to participate in Lives proposed by the company. Elizabeth Conte, general coordinator of Early Childhood Education at Beacon, shared good practices during the last webinar, with the mediation of Adriana Ramos, integration manager of Convivere Mais.
The topic “Talking About Early Childhood Education” counted on the participation of coordinators from other schools who also spoke about the challenge of the early childhood topic in times of social isolation, since for this segment the face-to-face practice of welcoming is even more essential.
First, the guest contextualized the meeting and addressed the importance of education during the first years of the child’s school life. Elizabeth then shared good practices in Beacon’s remote teaching. The Live also had a moment of conversation between everyone, answering the questions sent by the public through the chat.
Elizabeth explained that we went through moments of uncertainty and had to reinvent ourselves. If the child needs the concrete and interactive experience to consolidate the knowledge, how to bring it to the screens? And the bonds, the welcoming space? We understand that communication with parents is essential. We opened a listening channel and learned even more.
Daily, children have virtual meetings with their teachers, whose main focus is interaction, connection, careful eye and maintaining a bond. The teacher works in large and small groups, and even individually in some cases. In addition to these moments, the school sends proposals for activities with clear objectives of motor and cognitive development. The posts, which also contain videos of the teachers, allow families to access the content at any time and as often as they wish, adapting the routine of each family.
The pandemic moment is very fertile, which contributed to the exchange of good practices. Sharing ideas and hearing about the challenges and achievements of other schools is a great opportunity for collective learning.
