The second Brazilian edition of the Festival of Hope, hosted at our school, took place on the 8th, bringing together students from eleven IB schools from the states of São Paulo and Paraná.
The IB Festival of Hope is an international event that aims to amplify young people’s voices and celebrate community engagement around the theme of hope. Its main goal is to strengthen the global community of learners by reinforcing connections and encouraging young people to become agents of positive transformation for a better and more peaceful world.
The event’s theme was “Hope in Diversity”, and throughout the morning students took part in a series of activities related to the topic. These included a talk by Carola Videira, from Turma do Jiló; an exhibition of CAS and Community Engagement projects; and a range of workshops led by Beacon students, such as adapted sports, letter writing, female empowerment, and a lively roundtable discussion on diversity around the world.
It was a day filled with exchange, connection, and diversity, one that undoubtedly strengthened everyone’s sense of hope for the future.
