Beacon invited families and students from G1 to Y11 (from 1 year to 16 years old) to the Festival of Optional Activities 2022. The event promoted educational experiences and interactive activities between parents and children to celebrate the achievements of the year.
The students who participated were those enrolled in the activities Capoeira, Adventure Sports, Sports School, Soccer (G5, G6, and U-08), Skateboarding, Math Circle, Chess, Tech Lab, Mindfulness, Science & Nature, Yoga, and Nutri Lab.
A greatly awaited moment for the children and their families was the capoeira graduation. The students were looking forward to the exchange of the belt, which was celebrated with music and excitement. In the Nutrilab workshop, the guests learned how to make pancakes with their children and followed them from preparation to tasting the food. Games and activities involving strategies were part of the Math Wheel. Intellectual inquiry allowed students to develop confidence, perseverance, and mathematical creativity.
Through motor exploration, the children and teenagers were able to participate in activities such as an obstacle course in the Sports School classes, skateboarding challenges and maneuvers, and slackline and climbing walls in the Adventure Sports classes, among others.
Besides the achievements of our students, the Optional Activities Festival also celebrated the partnership between family and school. The rich exchange of experiences during the event made the moments lived even more meaningful among the participants.
