Elementary School students from the 5th grade (Y5) participate in the “Canal Aberto”, from Joca journal, and demonstrated creativity and self-confidence while answering questions from other kids:
“When I’m with my father, I have migraine. What can I do to avoid this?
“First, you can think about the reasons why you have migraine. One possible solution is to go to the doctor or therapy. This can be an emotional problem.” (Lara C.)
“You can talk with your father and explain what is going on. In case your parents are divorced and this is bothering you, talk with them both and decide on something that makes everyone happy.” (Barbara P.)
“Play a board game or practice any activity with him.” (Marcos F.)
“You may feel that way because when you meet your father, you feel anxious. Stay calm, breathe…, and then, relax. (Thiago P.)
“What would you do if you could not focus on classes?” (Giovana T.)
“I would probably ask my teacher to help me focus.” (Laura C.)
“One tip is to sit in front of the classroom and leave nothing on the table, avoiding any distraction.” (Estêvão V.)
“Try to sit next to a quiet person, who pays attention to the lessons. Ask him/her to help you study.” (Hanna T.)
“I would look for an educational psychologist or a therapist who could find out what’s wrong.” (Dimas P.)
