Alumni Highlights Luiza Chammas ’23

Studying at Beacon is much more than just attending a school. It truly means being part of a community. I joined the school in Grade 6 and remained there until I graduated from high school, thus completing my journey.

The IB DP in high school offered me more specialized classes, such as Business Management, through which I discovered my passion for the financial market. This interest led me to get involved in various organizations related to the field once I entered college. In addition, I participated in several school projects, which helped me uncover hobbies and interests and apply them to my personal and academic path.

Currently, I study at Fundação Getúlio Vargas and am part of “Conexão Social”, a student organization focused on philanthropic actions, where I work in the finance sector. None of this would have been possible without the school and all the experiences it provided—such as the trip to the countryside to build cisterns, CAS projects that pushed me out of my comfort zone, and in-depth classes.

Beacon shaped me not only as a student but also as a person and a professional. I am very grateful for everything I experienced during my 13 years at the school, and I hope to continue making a positive impact on people’s lives throughout my journey!
