Beacon welcomed educators, specialists and partners to share experiences about the art and responsibility of educating in a Musical Night. The visitors were invited to walk through the spaces of the Campus, at Vila Leopoldina, to the sound of the four sections, in a meeting filled with passion, discovery and knowledge.
The musical theme was chosen inspired by the architectural design of the Campus, since a good orchestra holds in its space organization the key element to reach balance in sound.
An orchestra gathers four groups of instruments – the sections – that are positioned according to their volume.
The string section stays in front of the stage due to its lowest volume. This is the reason why we have so many violins in an orchestra. Then the woodwind section arises, with greater intensity such as the oboe, the bassoon, and the clarinet. The brass section comes right behind with the trumpet, the French horn, the trombone, and the tuba. Using powerful instruments, the brass section only loses in terms of volume to the percussion section – always at the back of the stage.
This is the space design that allows balanced sound, chiseled melodies and harmony – the science of chords – of outstanding orchestras.
The meeting gathered Beacon pedagogical team and more than 200 visitors from other schools, partner companies and specialists such as pediatricians, educational psychologists and speech therapists.
