Admission Policy

In 2019, Beacon School will offer the Early Childhood Education, Elementary School and Middle School up to 8th grade. A new grade level is open each year - a gradual and consistent growth, which guarantees the same level of excellence that we have offered since we first opened our doors in 2010. Beacon school will be a Pre-K to Grade 12 school, and in 2023 our first class will be graduating from High School.

In the admission process, we seek to identify families and candidates who are aligned with our values and are committed to contributing to the school community. We understand that the admission process is a mutual choice between school and family. Thus, with each step in the process between Beacon School and the families, the school becomes better acquainted with the candidate and the families become more familiar with the school, its mission and values, the team and the pedagogical program.

Our student body is made up of Brazilian and foreign students. Therefore, we receive applications for enrollment throughout the academic year, in grade levels with openings available.

The admission process is organized in four phases: 1) a visit to the school; 2) completing and submitting the Admissions Application Form and payment of the registration fee; 3) a meeting with the families; 4) an interview or an assessment of the candidates, when applicable.

A group visit to the school offers families the opportunity to discuss and clarify any doubts about the school curriculum, the facilities and the administration. After submitting the Application Form and paying the registration fee, families are invited to an individual or small group meeting, and the students, according to their age, are invited for an interview or an on-site assessment.

In the admission process, the school considers a set of criteria for each grade level, listed in the Admission 2018 and 2019 sections. We work to conduct this process in a thoughtful, careful and fair manner, seeking to recognize families and students whose profiles are in line with our values and academic requirements. When admitting students, Beacon School carefully takes into account the balance of the students in each class and grade level with respect to age, gender, nationality and racial and cultural diversity.

The registration fee for 2019 should be paid after submitting the Application Form. This fee is non-refundable, even in the case of families choosing to withdraw from the process.

Beacon School reserves the right and autonomy to interpret this policy as best as it can on behalf of the student body and informs the result to families reserving the right not to disclose grades, scores or the final selection ranking.

By submitting the Application Form, the student's legal representative declares that he/she acknowledges and accepts the rules regarding the Beacon School admission process.
